Medical Director, OB/GYN

Description

In this vital position, you will provide physician leadership for OB/GYN services, supporting UCLA Health’s mission to deliver high-quality, equitable care across our community practices.
At UCLA Health, you can:
  • Serve as the physician lead for OB/GYN services across all community practices, reporting to the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Collaborate closely with clinic managers, the OB/GYN Clinical Director, and executive leadership to ensure timely access to care, continuity, and operational excellence.
  • Partner with UCLA Health stakeholders, including Nursing, Pharmacy, Contracting, IT, and other clinical departments, to optimize clinic operations and deliver safe, high-quality care.
  • Lead chart reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic planning to advance departmental goals in clinical quality, operational efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
  • Represent OB/GYN services in departmental meetings and other forums, promoting standardization, consistency, and alignment with UCLA Health’s overall strategy.
  • Manage relationships with local hospitals, including call coverage, delivery services, operating room scheduling, and hospital-related issue resolution.
This position allocates 40% of time to administrative leadership responsibilities and 60% to direct patient care, allowing you to maintain your clinical practice while shaping the future of OB/GYN services at UCLA Health.
The University of California, Los Angeles is required to provide an estimate of the salary range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Salary offers are determined based on candidate qualifications and experience. The annual base salary range for this position is 250,000.00-348,100.00. Productivity models, Quality Incentives, and additional income channels will be determined per the direction of the Department and Department Chair.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • California Medical license or eligibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, operational oversight, and quality improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered, and equitable care.
